Something that is generally taken at face value is the output from uname :
$ uname -a
NetBSD mimas.genunix.com 9.3 NetBSD 9.3 (GENERIC) #0: Thu Aug 4 15:30:37 UTC 2022 mkrepro@mkrepro.NetBSD.org:/usr/src/sys/arch/amd64/compile/GENERIC amd64
$ uname -a
FreeBSD hydra 13.2-RELEASE-p4 FreeBSD 13.2-RELEASE-p4 GENERIC amd64
Two separate machines where one is running FreeBSD 13.2 and the other
has NetBSD 9.3. Both of them are on dirt check x86_64 type hardware. In
fact the machine known with name "hydra" is a real slab of junk that
lay in a corner with
parts hanging out all over the place. Excellent for
cooling right?
