There are multiple options for the desktop user environment. A very lightweight option is
the LXQt desktop. Very similar to LXDE in other Linux operating systems. Some of the big
names in Linux have no options at all for you. With Devuan Linux you could even go with a
very flashy and modern KDE desktop. Trust me. It has all the bells and whistles you could
ever want and that includes support for camera and streaming to Twitch or Youtube. Keep it
simple for now and just select :
- Devuan desktop environment
- LXQT
- Console productivity
- SSH server
- standard system utilities
It is possible to skip everything and you will have a system that is barely useful unless
you are an expert. Do not do that now. Go with a nice light desktop.
