VMware provides many different ways to provide a network connection. Even a brief discussion
would be well beyond the scope of this trivial install procedure. Suffice it to say that if
you need a network connection then rest assured that VMware can do it! The most trivial
option here is "NAT" where your real machine will share a network address with the virtual
machine. If you are very familiar with your local network config then you may select the
Custom virtual network option. DO NOT DO THAT UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!
Entirely too many hours in life have been lost to digging a hole that we can not climb out
from. Just use the Network Address Translation ( NAT ) option and go forwards.
